I have been thinking of traveling some outside of the Austin area. I did this a few years ago, and it worked out well in some cities and not so well in others. It's really hard to be certain as to whether the trip will be financially beneficial until you get there. It never fails...when I plan to go somewhere and get enough pre-booked appts, I either do well...or have cancellations and can only hope to "break even" financially. BUT, when I don't have enough pre-booked appts and cancel the trip, everyone calls. So, it's hard to know and is a gamble for the most part.
On the bright side...for the most part...I enjoy getting some time to myself and getting to stay in different cities. I couldn't travel for awhile due to not having a vehicle, having an SO, etc. The only thing I need to do now is to make sure my babies (dogs) are taken care of during my absence and I am good to go! ;)
I often get requests to visit other cities but timing is everything. So, if you happen to be reading this and would like me to visit your city...and plan to see me, of course...feel free to let me know. I am going to put some "feelers" out in the interim and try to visit a few cities before the holidays. After the first of the year, I may travel out of state once a month or so. There are so many providers that have started touring and seem to be doing well for the most part so I'm going to jump on that bandwagon. ;)
I am hoping to start classes in the Spring to complete the last 5 or 6 classes I need to get licensed as a Professional Counselor but not sure if I will have time between now and then to get everything together. I was admitted and registered for classes back in 2006/2007 and had even paid for a class but then had the "stalker situation" so dropped everything at that time, of course. So, I know that St Edwards will accept me again but it's just a matter of deadlines. Regardless, if I can start classes in Jan, traveling will go to the back burner...will know soon enough.
It's time to walk my Ridgeback now...well, he is walking me right now (needs training asap and after all of his shots)...so off I go. Have a great week!
