So, although I did try and try when I was married, I have not yet been fortunate enough to know the joys of being a mother! I have two beautiful sisters who are both awesome moms, not to mention my very own mother, so with the way things are looking, I will live vicariously through my sisters when trying to play the mom role. :(
I hope that everyone tells the women in their lives how special they are today! I will email my mom and sisters today and maybe get to make some calls as I STILL don't have phone service....but that's a downer so we'll skip over that part for now!
I get a little sad on days like this, though, as I always thought that I would be a great mom! Out of the three of us girls growing up, it was just understood that I would be the one that had children first. I remember "calling" my daughter's potential name when I was in the 7th grade....PENELOPE! My sisters both laughed and said I could have that one...lol...but for some reason, I just loved that name. I never knew a girl named Penelope...didn't know of Penelope Cruz then...who knows, but THANKFULLY, I grew out of that "must have" before I was able to be a mom! ;)
I DO have two gorgeous nieces that live in my hometown of Shreveport, LA and are just amazing, as well as a handsome nephew right here in Texas! I won't be seeing any of my family today but will be thinking of them and sending positive vibes and well wishes to my sisters and my very own beautiful, intelligent, and classy mom in Dallas, TX today!
Treat the women in your lives with love and gratitude today, and have a GREAT week everyone!
Kisses,
Sarah
